Because I get asked this so very, very often and the answer that always comes out of my mouth is, "Uuuuuuuh, how do I put this?" XD
And also because I wanted to draw her being cool so there you have it.
I think it's funny that I've made such a royally clique-centered, critical, arrogant(condescending, even!) character
and everybody wants to be her friend. As a writer, I am pleased (and a little confused) that she is so likeable with these questionable qualities.
Poor Nyxis though. She will have unwanted suitors and challengers for years to come. :P

My lady! I would never. Her dress would be bare midriff perhaps. Her armor however would be scale-mail. Though, where I'm going to find a skilled gem cutter? It'd be a combination of Obsidian and smokey crystal to match that equally breath taking weapon...or is that life taking? Either way
I see Nyxis more as a kindred spirit. Aerth would probably enjoy working with her, but would want to give her respectful distance because that is what she desires. I don't think her aloofness is a matter of her being a jerk as much as it is that she has her own concerns and just doesn't identify with the concerns of common folk.

Exactly! Aerth is a flying leopard, but he puts his skills to purpose. It's a tool to him. While he recognizes that it makes him unique, he'd see flaunting his skills with air pressure as a waste of talent.
Besides, most people who attempt to catch someone's eye are superficial to begin with. He'd much rather see Nyxis take an interest in someone for her own reasons; she's not easily dazzled by people bullshitting for her favor and that would earn her all the more respect from him.
