So I played Five nights at Freddy's.
I was surprisingly pleased. Gameplay is pretty simple, yet it's the only horror game that got me genuinely stressed and scared since years. Love its 90's point and click setting aswell.
Drew this for the sake of fun and being in the hype before it gets run into the ground like the Slenderman. (I hope not)

The guard either enjoys the thrill, is very desperate for money, has a death wish, someone is beating he won't do it, or he's doing a favor for the manager, I don't know. Take your pick. But why not a form of defence like a pistol or a stun gun or hell even a stick. You are a night watcher. Some poor soul is going to break in eventually.
again there is no need for an good explanation... heck you could be there cause they offer you free cake ..its like the first slender ... is there a good reason why you are there in the wood searching for baddy drawn pictures ? nooo .. you are just running along with it
you don't need a great story for everything when it comes to video games cause they are basically interactive design experiences
could Five days at Freddy's have a better reason why you are there .. yeah but not having one actually adds a different layer of emotion .. I have seen a lot of people bringing this point of "why am i coming back to this place" in lets play ..and it does seem to have some weight in make them even more uncomfortable
but yeah .. if we are to take the mechanics of the games as metaphors ..you are right .. the guard enjoys the thrill .. cause that why people play this game anyway
