So last night I picked up the second volume of the MLP:FIM comic (containing issues 5-8) on Kindle.

That… was a mistake. Not because the story was bad, oh no. Far from it. It was so freaking good that I got stupid hyper after finishing it close to midnight and couldn’t get to sleep until some time past 2AM.

Spike’s infatuation/puppy love of Rarity is something I greatly enjoy in the series (even if Rarity sometimes takes advantage of it to the point of being mean) and it was played very well in this volume’s story arc.The fact that Rarity, at times, shows him deeper love in return, even if platonic, is incredibly touching. For those wondering, I don’t ship them, or any of the Mane Six for that matter, but whatever floats your boat, man.

Anyhow, it gave me such warm fuzzies that I had to sketch something out and this was the result.
