When I was first dropped into Dark Souls years ago it was the kind of game I was craving and didn't even know tight controls, amazing battles, and thank god for no major cutscenes except boss intros. I still go back to it. Silver Knight Douchebags and all.

I can happily report that this is still a souls game, and still handles tighter than sheepy's butt with more fluid magic. the minor nits are not much to pick at. Mostly you get something you loose something, like now weapons restore condition at bonfires, but they break faster, so it averages out.

I believe they went overboard on the vagueness in attempt to allow players to build their own story. They went a bit overboard, but have started cleaning it up with the DLC which by the way was amazing.

The world itself is dark and beautiful, like the first it also sets a standard for Experiencing a fantasy world, rather than being told about it. The entire land is dripping with implications and a history for you to unravel.

I'm proud to say the I'm a lore junkie and love to talk it over with friends.

I still wonder on the origin of the old dragon slayer sometimes.

Not the best entry in the series, but a fun game cut from the same cloth.
