No, an appropriate prototype for Gordon is a Gresley A1/A3 like 'Flying Scotsman'. While you're at it, swap the existing 8-wheeled tender for an LMS-style 6-wheeled one.
As for Edward, I would suggest an LMS 2P or an LNER D49.
As for James, my suggestion would be an LMS 4F with a taller chimney and a pony truck (two extra wheels at the front).
