My go-to dinner party dessert. So easy to make, but always leaves everyone impressed! They don't have to know that it only took you a few minutes to make. It'll be our little secret.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups whole milk
4 teaspoons unflavored, powdered gelatin
4 1/2 cups heavy cream
2 - 4 tablespoons high quality cocoa powder
3/4 cup white sugar
Pinch of salt
Chocolate bars, strawberries, whipped cream (to garnish)
Directions:
Pour the milk into a medium saucepan and sprinkle the gelatin across the top of the milk. Let it sit for 5 minutes, softening. Then turn stovetop to medium heat and stir milk until the gelatin just dissolves.
Add the cream, sugar, and pinch of salt. Whisk in the cocoa powder until you're satisfied with the chocolate levels. Whisk continuously over low heat until the sugar dissolves fully.
Remove from the heat to let cool completely. (Transfer to another bowl if you wish.) Stir the mixture frequently while it is cooling to prevent a skin from forming on top. When cool, pour the cream into 6 large or 12 small ramekins.
Cover and refrigerate; chill until set, a few hours. Once ready to serve, shave curls from white, milk, or dark chocolate bars on top of the panna cotta for garnish. Add a dollop of whipped cream and a strawberry. Serve within 24 hours.
