Jeffery was a promising student when he left for school out of his hometown, he could have flown but he decided to leave early in the summer and see the country from his windshield as he made his way to his new schooling environment.

It was a mostly uneventful trip, the featureless desert filled with nothing but rolling sand dunes and scrub wastes, not the exciting exploration that the student was hoping for. He paused in a small town to rest for the night, finding a motel in the very small very strange little desert town. He was simply intent on flopping onto his bed and listening to the radio until he could finally fall asleep, riding on the waves and dips of the smooth voice of the community radio station.

When Jeffery awoke he found that he could not leave the little town, the residents treating him as if he had always lived their. The louder he protested that he had to get to his school the more the town assured him that no he was where he belonged. And soon Jeffery began to believe it himself...enrolling in the community college to study scientific theory and getting a part time job at the Community Radio Station.

This is home now, he is safe, he loved his town. His Night Vale.
