In one of the last expansion of MTG you had the option to summon Enchantment Creature as Auras, Enchanting another creature and giving them the abilities and strenght an endurance of the "Mystical" creature as a bonus. I always liked the Idea that whenever you do that, the Creature start to get transformed to match that Spell empowdered them. This is one of the first of 15 possible pictures related to Theros world.

It's one of my favurite too. It really help a lot to let your creatures attack. I use it on a White/red Deck based on Heroic and it have helped me a lot to put the needed point of Damage by taking off a blocker when paired with my Arene Atlethe, or making my(In enemy base) Akroan Horse to not be harmed and still give me soldiers on the Camp.
Not sure if the Gnarled Scarhide would be "Exactly" part of this, But since All of the Minor gods don't have an "Emissary" i'll pick animal that represent such gods. (Example, an Owl for Ephara because she is kinda based on Atena.)
