Try talking to it, maybe it knows where you can find food or water, or if the village is safe.
If it wanted to attack you it probably would've done so by now.
Also you might be able to befriend it for a Wrestler Hellbeast team up for when you leave the island... or conquer it depending on how the voting goes in the future.
