SOoooo I made a Venom :D
I broke with some design rules for him because I didn't want to make just a copy of some comic-book style Venom, but my own take on him. :]
So think of him as a version from an alternate universe kinda setting, perhaps. No pesky human shall ever emerge from his hot body and ruin it. D8< NEVAR!!!
Also I got encouraged to try this when seeing that cute lil' figure for that upcoming Infinity 2.0 thingy thingy children-money-ripoff game (google for it).
Yes yes ~ You know me, of COURSE he has a dick under that underwear :B A BIG ONE.
BUT. That is not a proper way to introduce him, no? So that'll cum later !
He is textured, normalmapped, rigged and ready to rumble. P: But that'll have to wait since I cannot neglect artworking for this as much as I did in the past 2 days while finishing his dang skinning. xD

And I hope so, that thing's amazing! Also half the reason I need to learn how to 3D so I can porn. Virtual porn. I was lucky enough to order within the first hour or so, so I've had mine for a while. x)
September's plenty of time for the SDK to be updated and UE4 to update with some compatibility at least! I've been working on UE4 some myself - but it's mostly made me realised that my rig as it is has no chance in hell of running it on the Rift.
...Sorry I'm nerding out over VR again. Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Right, there are way too few things that work well with the updated SDK yet. I'm sure epic will push out a nice little set of extra Rift demo maps in one of the next updates :V And hm! Well if you don't use any fancy shaders I'm sure your PC can cope with the requirements. I mean if all you want is a single character tofap to study up close, then that should be do-able even for a low spec machine :P

I'm on a GTX 645, which can actually usually push 60fps fine, but choosing between judder and motion blur sucks for the sim-sickness prone. v: Probably gonna wait for the 880 at least before upgrading though - that should coincide nicely with you getting your DK2!

HMmm. Ah I'm still using an overclocked GTX670 myself (it is slightly faster than a 680 that way). Mainly because the current generation of GTX7XX has a really shitty amount of Vram (my card has 4GB) - I'm not willing to pay a premium to get a titan just for additional vram >:V
So I'm waiting ror the next generation, too. I'll settle with a third vendor cooling solution though, I really don't like the noise of Nvidia's stock coolers X]

670 should be fine for most demos, especially overclocked (I suck at hardware so I'm too scared to do that myself - actually suck at hardware in general but you know). I can run some demos at a nice 75 fps and games like Proton Pulse aren't too bad at 60fps, so an overclocked 670 should do it - and even if it didn't the 8xx series should be out by then anyway!
Never experienced much noise with coolers, but there's almost always construction going on around here so sounds don't bother me that much. Except my brother yelling at CS: GO. Man, I need my own house. Housing here is way too expensive. It's like 500k for an apartment!
I have no idea how I'll explain myself to outside observers playing that game, but I'll think of something. 8D UE4 should look incredible in the Rift at least! And I mean, if you need beta testers with a Rift... *cough*

Ooh, you should have a look at VisiR! It's a music visualiser for the Rift that hooks to whatever's playing through your audio, so you can pretty much just set up a playlist and start relaxin'. Granted not nearly as fancy as something you could cook up, but pretty great in the interim nonetheless!

I was planning to, but I was looking around at this IT fair and this salesman came up to me... >_> That and I don't want to damage anything with static. I'll probably do it next time though! (Also, I just changed back to the default Start menu.)
Hopefully they can - I know they had some delays, although a lot less than they had with the DK1. If they successfully ramped up production, you might get it in September - and it also depends on your region. Say, if you ordered late but you're in a region with very few orders, you might get it earlier. Hopefully, anyway. x) There's a community-managed DK2 tracker here if you don't know about it already.

Ohhhhhhh god dammit I need to do more research. I did actually see some pictures of static damage at some point, but I was scared off by it and never really looked too deep into it. In any case, future rigs/upgrades will be done by hand!
