I thought I would try out just doing some basic digital coloring, and since I found a lovely set of free lineart ripe for the picking around here:

Just to reiterate, I did not draw the lineart for this. I only colored it, credit for the lineart goes to ~TheWhiteFalcon
So yeah, this is about what my kobold character Drake's head would look like. I'll post more details about him in the future, and of course I'll draw him myself eventually. But basically his coloration is due to various magical experiments performed on him for most of his life. The original purpose of the experiments was to turn him half black dragon, even though he was already part blue dragon. He continued these experiments on his own to gain the properties of red and white dragons as well, and continues to try and improve himself magically with time.
