So I saw the in progress, you sculpted the original material (something like jewelers wax?) and then cast it so you can then make the starting point for the rings? I am not familiar with the process. But am fascinated by it, would love to know more if you have any place you can send me.

Yes! You can google "lost wax casting" for more info. Green jeweler's wax is very hard, so it's great for carving, and then it gets cast into metal and cleaned up and polished. From the first one I make, I take a mold of it, and then I can make additional copies (and in wax, it's very easy to create the sizes I need for other rings). My favorite way of doing jewelry because I love sculpting the most. :)
Considering mine was only around $30 around 8 years ago, I have no doubt. My landlord would never allow me to do casting in my home, but Mom would probably let me set up a casting station at her place in the country. I fabricate everything by hand, so it takes forever, and there's often soldering and hammering required. It makes me reluctant to sell what I do make.
