A variant of the standard military Light Frigate.
The Heavy Frigate is largely identical to the Light Frigate in most respects, save for a modified undercarriage and upper stern, and the addition of a heavier arsenal. This variant retains the original 50 point-defense turrets, but has 8 missile pods and 10 heavy rail guns. This type of Frigate is typically deployed for escort missions through hazardous areas, as well as patrol missions where extra firepower may be required.
Somewhat rare due to the higher cost of production, the Heavy Frigate is nonetheless the most well-armed capital ship of its class.
