these two are easily my favorite couple. another interesting tidbit is that Mar follows the Paragon's Mantra (or at least some of it)
the Paragon's Mantra is a series of 13 saying that illustrate the ideal values upheld by the Paragons themselves. each candidate must create their own mantra beads with the mantra they find most important to themselves as the "Keystone".
Mar's Keystone is "Hate is for the Weak.".... just let that sink in for a bit
of the 13 i only have 9 and i am not in any rush to finish them because each one needs to have a certain significance
1) Hate if for the weak
2) Paragons do not kill, paragons protect (yeah Mar does not follow this one)
3) Our diversity is our strength (a family tree that spans 1000 sapient races yeah i think he's got that covered)
4) Justice before Law (well Mar is a little 'flexible' on this)
5) Logic tempered with compassion (logic and Mar is an oxymoron)
6) Equality is an absolute (Mar follows this on WAAAAAY too much)
7) The paragon is in us all (why do you think he ever tried to become one?)
8) Honesty and integrity (Mar want punch you? Mar says so. Mar say WILL punch you? Mar don't stop Punch you)
9) Mercy is a virtue of the strong ( and here is where things get nice and complex.....but that is saved for stories)

basically they are my version of 'Jedi' with a few distinct changes
one : none of this "celibacy" crap. they are actually encoraged to have families and connectiong and keep themselves well and truly apart of sciciety not seperate from it.
two: true paragons DON NOT KILL. even though the respawn from "Dyson's Gift" makes killing near impossible they never go for the kill

So we'll finally see if kissing his nose was against Sheshiek's mantra or not? While I'm not afraid of my black fireball squirrel popping out of the woods and waltzing accidentally into some heated exchange between these two, I get the feeling slightly smaller Shishka stumbling in afterwards and clinging to the squirrel would get a bit of a sneer from Mar. Unless he thought the bee was some conquest of the squirrel's?
