yes they are, and something found them tasty. They are orchids of some kind though. Spathoglottis plicata is probably the actual flower... I'd almost entirely forgotten about this genus.

Orchids are beautiful complex plants. I had considered getting into them. But they are a lot of hard work.

Some orchids are very easy to grow though!

Ah, those are spathoglotis... I have grown them before. I wanted to try to grow them from seed, but ended up moving and losing plants in the process, before that could happen.
