Yes I do watch that show and naming the kangaroo Earl was actually a nod to the show. And I was very surprised to find out many of his hats are now real.

It's really a neat take on a multiple perspective story. I get a little campy vibe from the start with the shrunken stadium, as though it were some super villainy with a dreaded scheme! You've got a really nice way of writing believable characters with realistic motivations/reactions toward shrunken folks. It really helps create the feeling with once you've shrunken to bug sized and below, the world isn't too careful with your new life expectancy.
