I wasn't really imagining them as metallic, more polished stone/plate/shell-like.

Thanks :) I was really going for a reptilian scale/plate/leathery feel, but since it's basically a turtle with a bird-like form, instead of feathers, I gave it little shells!

You did a good job at it! Looks very plate-shellish to me. Seems like it'd take more than a sharp object to easily pierce it, whether its a hard surface or not.

Very nice, the details are really astounding. I like all the little splits in the scales, makes it look very old and natural. And I like how it's evident you know what a vulture looks likes based on the head design, giving him all the fleshy little bumps and the loose baggy skin around the neck and eye sockets

Thanks a lot! I was told to give it wings "with a turtle-shell-like texture", so I imagined it could fold its wings up around it like armour. Then, because snapping turtles and vultures both tend to be kinda scrappy animals, I figured it should have a bunch of old scarring/scratches on him from getting into fights or whatnot :b

That sounds good to me. Yah it has a turtle shell like look to it and pangolin like scales. Looks like it would be able to move and shift with the movement of its wings.

Haha, really? I feel like its AC would be annoyingly high x_x until you could flank or stun it or something, so you could get past its armoured wings :b

Sort of reminds me of a gargoyle, but with a reptilian/avian twist to it...

Yeah, one of the developers said that, too, but I really mostly just see turtle-vulture, personally :b
