This dog is what we call a Galgo Español, a species of greyhound common for the hunting in Spain. The spanish hunters use of them for hunt the rabbits, the foxes or the boars. At the first view this galga, the word for designate the female galgo, is in a perfect health and were always like that but in reality, she is one of the survivors of the spanish hunters.
The title talk about "survivors" and you maybe asking why I choose this title, this is for a simple reason, for a lot of spanish hunters, those dogs are less precious than a nail, they use firstly the males for hunting and the females for the reproduction but when one of those dogs are wounded, sick or too old, they get rid of this dog, like a broken object. Some times, they are just abandoned, left to themselves, but this is the better thing they could happen to them, we've already saw those dogs dragged behind cars, hanging from iron wire on a well, too high for touch the ground completely but too low for die, some of them were sprayed with acid, burned alive, killed by their owner because the shelter is closed and certainly a lot of other atrocity.
This galga was certainly mistreated by womens and childs, because the majority of the galgo español are beaten by their owner, when she arrived in France 3 years ago, she was always scared, she always run aways in front of the people she doesn't knew and in particularly the mens, now she's less fearful same if she has a heavy past behind her.

There are, in Spain, some shelters which recover and take care of those dogs for distribute them to some associations in France, in Switzerland, in Belgium, in Netherlands and maybe few other countries where they will be adopted by some families where they could live in peace until their death. But unfortunately, in one of those association which I know, we count a hundred of those dogs which were pass in this association whose 21 of them are died in their news families.
