well... technically they are not as maddog killer types as you might think, when placed in the proper context.

remember that i said the overall imagery of Dyson is that of an MMORPG? well remember one gaming mechanic that happens to your character when they die in most video games?


RE-Spawn!

with most of the characters Mar and Sheshiek Fight will either be other Dyson or the creatures they created, be they machine or biological, if they are "killed' then their remains will be 'pulled' to a re-spawn point and their bodies and minds reconstructed.

thus it is extremely hard to kill a Dyson but that lack of 'consequence' has the unfortunate byproduct of making a rather violent society. but no one ever locks their doors and the city gates are pretty much never closed, the mentality of "bring it bitch!" is a VERY common one.

I don't get it, literally. Does he refer to the fact that Mar is like a soldier or mercenary for the Dysons?

well i have done more 'explaining' than drawing of just how violent these two are so that is probably where the confusion lies

Could you maybe link me to one such explanation piece? Because I admit, I must've missed it. From what I gathered these two are like, soldiers, I understood that Dyson society is quite twilightish in that they can be either very peaceful or very violent, and that Mar and Shesheik can be pretty...rough during sparring.
