Just some more doodles from work that I digitalised, a certain familar plant that some may recognise by a certain burp.
Then just a cute bright nectar dragon who got a bit too close to the wrong plant, resulting in the poor draggie taking a detour into its stomach. I reckon he'll be ok though...

If you ever get a hold of the 'Dracopedia: Drawing the Dragons of the World' book, they've got an absolutely gorgeous "butterfly dragon" in it. based off a monarch butterfly, and its so cute :> One of the few dragons that actually has a hoarding instinct too - it likes collecting shiny bottlecaps :>
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11328388/ Warcraft's Faerie Dragons are super-cute too ^^

It focuses more on painting than drawing really ^^
The biology and history tidbits can be fun to read, but since it's set in a real-world Earth setting (Alternate Timeline and not Fantasy like say Harry Potter, Dragonology, or Spiderwick, which also take place on Earth. So you won't see magic or talking dragons or anything.).... Well, you know what happens with modern humans and animals. Environment/habitat destruction, poaching, abuse... The likes. You don't see too much of that in the 'Drawing the dragons of the world' book, but there's plenty and more in the 'Drawing the Great Dragons' book urf... Even if they do provide an absolutely LOVELY mawshot with the Grey Dragon's portrait.
Despite that, not all dragons have it rough. Faerie Dragons are fairly well off and popular (probably because they're harmless :P), Drakes have been raised to pull siege weapons in Medieval times, cannons in the American Civil War (And other 'early/modern wars'), and in the modern time are kept as guard "dogs" or used in races. Like that one TV Show :P
Hydras are largely um... Not liked by humans (They eat us on sight :P) except for the Cerberus Hydra, which is one of the few dragons humanity 'domesticated'. It's also the only hydra that's born with all three of its heads and NEVER grows new ones. Ever.
And lastly there's the Dragonette. Everyone loves them :> Also the only herbivorous dragon xP They look kinda dinosaur like :D
The 'Great Dragons' are the Western-style ones. Some of them look pretty cool :D The Brown Dragon looks like an owl :>

Ah no biggie, might still help me out though ^.=.^
Hmm so they're represented as feral creatures in this than more sentient and intelligent to the point they can communicate. Oh yes, the typical stuff that happens to all animals due to human activity and environment change.
Well its good to hear that it didn't end all that sour for every dragon, that some have been 'domesticated' into human life, so at least some of the dragons will survive and not just been hunted down to exstinction.
Haha of course hydras have got to stick it to the humans, only natural with all those heads haha. Hehe oooo a herbivore draggie? Sweet, now that'll be interesting to see in the book
I'm sure it'll help give me new ideas for unique designs on draggies, so all in all no loss in my eyes

(Removed my last comment since it hurt too much for me to read ^^; You'll find out about it yourself I guess if you read the Grey Dragon's article in the 'Great Dragons' book - separate from the Drawing the... Of the World one)
Feral doesn't mean not intelligent. The "Great" (Or 'True') Dragons are by far the most intelligent, but they're - sadly - highly antisocial and thus largely solitary creatures. The exception are the Brown Dragons and the Black Dragons (Albeit only because of generations of being forced to live together by the former Soviet empire. They're one of the more abused breeds of dragons in the 'modern day')
All of the great dragons are bordering extinction, either being critically endangered or merely endangered, but where in Medieval times humans would happily kill off a species if they didn't benefit them alive, modern humans do take measures to ensure that endangered flora/fauna don't disappear forever. Yes, there's still the shadier types that will abuse and exploit said animals if it makes them money, but overall... Things have been getting better but there's still a long ways to go (National Dragon Preserves hah, I thought those signs in the Green Dragon's article were kinda cute x3)
...
Oooh and they also have giant sea 'serpents' :D
And the wyrms? Big snake dragons <3
Coatl-y things living in New York, devouring all the pigeons >:P (Well, more like keeping the population in check ^^
