here we have an introductory sketch for the next folio. this time we will be seeing a Dyson couple and an unusual one in terms of how they met (by Dyson Standards).
Aurthur Wallace is from "our" world. at the end of 2015 humanity finally destroys the planet and that is pretty much it for life as we know it but not the end of humanity. Many extra terrestrial races took piety on the human race and gathered up what survivors they could thus preserving our species. one sure alien was a Dyson.
he brought a significant number of humans to Dyson's city of Iris and the citizens attempted to integrate the survivors into their culture with typical open armed fashion. for the most part it did not work and the majority of human survivors refused to accept the offers of integration and left Iris to for their own society "off the grid"....they did not last 10 years.
those who chose to integrate quickly became ordinary Dysons with their previous lives delegated to 'old memories'
Aurthur was an accountant and over the next 80 years he became a librarian which for those who have been following my post should know is actually a VERY prestigious position. he is the equivalent to a major bank's CEO because Dyson puts a lot of emphasis on the value of skills and information.
Liu and Aurthur met at the library branch he was assigned at the time and here is where their relationship gets odd by Dyson standards.
the two "sparked" and instantly felt a overwhelmingly powerful attraction to each other, compare that to the "courtship" between Mar and Sheshiek which has been going on for 150 years.
by the end of the day Liu and Authur get 'married' in traditional Dyson fashion A.K.A the bind their souls right down to the ID.
all Dyson have many levels of firewalls to protect their various physiological and 'spiritual' aspects. When two Dyson get Married (the more accepted term is form a family unit) they drop all those defenses and 'blend' their various energies together.
in a very literal (and cheesy) sense they Blend their Souls
on an unrelated note: unless specified otherwise, all my bug women designs will be for Dyson so they will follow those story telling rules.

oh it is but Multiverse theory allows for the intersection whenever i want (and so i can put Mar wherever i want)
and yes they are iron born. remember, the term iron born is not a place of birth or culture or ethnicity, it is a way of thinking.
some classic examples of personality traits that would make someone iron born are:
a woman who distrusts/hates men because they are men (or visa versa)
anyone who negatively judges another based off skin pigmentation (all forms of racism)
to coerce someone into a relationship then push them away and claim that it was the others 'fault' and claim 'innocence' (a LOT more common than you'd think)
thinking ones own (insert element here) is superior to all others
or basically 'purity' and segregation, over integration and tolerance.

ah i keep forgetting just how little of the back ground i have actually posted about my story.
the difference with GranGran's village is that they were made originally from Dyson stock. basically what usually happens is one Dyson 'goes bad' and does not want an 'integrated' society any more. so he or she steals enough genetic material or children from other iron born villages to make their own village.
this means that even though the new city has very little ways to protect itself they are still Dyson, and have rudimentary firewalls and some times protection provided by their 'founder', until he or she dies, gets arrested (kidnapping is VERY illegal) or just gets bored and leaves. after which the village usually is wiped out by something horrible.
