This was an experiment for me working on a new digital painting technique: lineless art; absolutely no lineart was involved in the making of this background, just a mash of colors and imagination.... took me about 2 hours to draw. You might recognize this as the background for another recent image of mine

It is a large image...
(wanted to put "Generic prizing comment" out of irony but.... I must admit it´s pretty impressive.)

Any words on how it felt working without line art?

it was... kinda liberating actually. Gives a lot more flexibility, but it got a little messy trying to add the leaves on the trees, need to work on that next time.

My favorite part of the submission. That forest is really beautiful. Great sense of depth and perspective gorgeous lighting and colors too, wonderful background work.

thanks, I was thinking about practicing this technique more in the near future, it seems to work faster than lineart sketching when it comes to making landscapes.
