This picture is just practice, I stumbled upon
purplekecleon's tutorial on colors and shading, that sort of stuff. So I decided to try some of it out, see if I can improve my art with it. It helped me tons and I think this looks pretty good for a first try.
This picture uses a greenish tint. I think tint is the word to use. I didn't use any filters or anything like that, just tried to make the colors look somewhat green without any particular color sticking out like a sore thumb. Pink was hard but I think it's good.
Anyway I'm just saying I'm super happy with this. I know her body is a bit wide, that was an accident. but that's fine, was just practicing other stuff.
This feels so odd to say and this is totally not me but....
I WANT CRITIQUE. I'm trying to not get upset when it comes to critique. Just...please don't say anything insulting, just tips and the sort.
Anyway, enjoy!

I think this is really nice! Certainly a departure from your normal technique but hey, that's no bad thing. I think the colour-over-the-lines edginess is very different from you, considering you're a very neat and tidy artist, but I think this really works! It does give the piece some motion and excitement. You've still kept it from becoming a blurry mess which is sometimes a risk with this technique, but no, you've remembered what you've learned about art and still delivered a crisp piece only with a little more excitement in how you've carried it out.
Looking at this piece (and I think it's just because of this character's colours), the light fur is rather bright. Looking at the full size image, I do have to squint a little, so maybe the next step with this style is to introduce more shading (under the lower jaw, under the eyes and so on). This will give it greater depth and detail, make the piece look more three-dimensional and real and for me, will just reduce that sharp glare a little.
Overall, though, you should be very pleased with this. It's different from your style, but that's not a bad thing at all! You've worked outside your comfort zone but remembered to keep it looking as good as your art always does. A fine effort, well done! <3

Wow that was quite descriptive and I really appreciate your thoughts and input. I'm glad it looks good despite it being something new for me. As for shading on the face, I still am not that good at it. I can never figure where to put shading without it look odd, on the face anyway. and I'll keep the brightness in mind, in the next piece I'll try and make it a tad less bright. Thank you so much!
