The story goes like this:
Ecolodge San Luis, Costa Rica - 2004
JP had presented his group's findings on nerites snails, researched while at Cabo Blanco, at the symposium. (Not a very large symposium, mind, what with 10 students, 2 permentant instructors, 2 TAs, a couple resident naturalists and a few people from the community.)
Outside, after the syposium wrapped up, he said that fateful phrase: "Bad-ass snails" which of course, I followed with, "... I HAVE TO DRAW THAT."
Inspiration to completion took nearly two years. ...I'm not particularly timely with these sorts of things.
