This is an example of a new pony species that a friend(http://alexkingofthedamned.deviantart.com/ ) and I thought up. Basically, they're the ponies that make shooting stars! They only live up in space/outer atmosphere, and are basically not known to any other ponies. Falling stars are cosmares that get to close to the earth and burn up basically. When a cosmare dies of natural purposes (old age) they simply turn into a new shooting star and are reborn. But if they die from other causes (disease, being a falling star, etc) they turn into star dust and float up into the sky, where they create constellations like the milky way.

Basic info:
~ All females (no male ponies, since they are known as cosMARES and are considered the 'mothers of the cosmos')
~ Light coloured manes and bodies Lots of pastel colours.
~ They have dragonfly-like wings. (Better for flying through space)
~ They can't speak (sound can't travel in space) so they only talk telepathically.
~ A new filly is born when she falls out of the sky on a new shooting star.
~ The amount of stars on them tells their age. (old mares could have an entire galaxy on them!)
~ They like to wear a lot of jewelry! (gotta be all sparkly)
~ Pupils are a darker colour than their irises.
~ They have little tuffs of cloud on their feet that (usually) match their manes.
~ They have no genitalia as there is no need for mating. Any intimate situations are through mental stimulation. They basically merge into one being for a short while.
