Soooo.... My glue gun caught on fire. o_o
Good news, I wasn't holding it at the time. Bad news, I just went and bought a new pack of sticks for it 2 hours ago. It was only 2 weeks old too, and it started leaking this odd, burnt glue from around the cap last night (that's a ball of it in the picture). That's what I get for buying the $2.99 glue gun I suppose. At least I still have my backup low-temp gun.

Honesly could be the hot glue gun at fault. Take it back where you bought it from and tell them the proof is in the drier.
I have the same glue gun and never had an issue. So it maybe the fact that it was asspembled improperly and finally got hot enough to spark.
They atleast owe you a new one for free.

I was told that ad tech is known to do that. I was suggested by a well known suit maker that surebonder is the way to go for glue guns.
I am very happy you were not hurt, I would have been devastated ;~;
Another thing with ad tech, they either run too cold or too hot I was told.

Thank you for the concern and the suggestion! It was my first ad tech glue gun, so it left a little bit of a bad impression on me for future purchases from them. I really am so thankful I set it down. Wouldn't have been able towear my handpaws to megaplex if it had gotten me.
Yeh, I believe I've read many horror stories about that brand ;u; a specific model they had was known to have a little mini explosion as well. I've had terrible luck with mine including it actually melting through the plastic and the tip falling off. It might have something to do with the fact that I think they're really just supposed to be for jewelry making and I would be using mine plugged in for an hour+ at a time ;u; Needless to say I don't get that brand anymore xD
Glad you weren't holding onto it though when it caught fire!
