Hey there everybody! Here's something else to go with that story I posted up a little while ago, found at the link below for those curious.

Anyway was anyone wondering what the deal with Ruby's cape wearing, bumbling opponent was? Well WONDER NO MORE! May I present Rosalinda Richards! =D The newest oddity of the PCA!

Mother – Carmen Richards (Hawlucha, maiden name Guerra, age 46)

Personality:
Bubbly, cheerful, energetic, friendly, strong-willed, and stubborn Rosalinda is a highly optimistic and INCREDIBLY clueless girl. Always eager to make friends and generally nice to people. She tends to be oblivious to all but the most obvious signs that she’s making people uncomfortable. Rosalinda’s most crippling issue is an inability to listen to other’s advice, tendency to make decision on the split-second, and an inability to back down from those decisions till they’ve explicitly proven to be bad ones. Because of this she tends to recklessly charge into things, ignoring the advice of calmer or more experienced people, and get herself in trouble repeatedly before she is willing to try something different.
Another trait that tends to get Rosalinda in trouble is the fact she’s incredibly show-offish, wanting to make a spectacle of things or look cool while doing them. This often doesn’t mix well with her stubbornness and leads her to do things that defy logic, rationality, and general common sense… and getting burned from doing it. Despite these numerous mistakes (and her refusal to learn from them till repeating them several times) Rosalinda maintains her cheerful attitude and friendly disposition. Always completely convinced she’ll get it right next time.
Lastly, and this is a trait she shares with her brothers, Rosalinda is INCREDIBLY competitive and HATES losing… this isn’t to say she’s a bad loser so to speak. It’s more that she tends to spend the next week or two mercilessly hounding whoever beat her for a rematch so she can try to win against them. Of course since her winning is usually accompanied by showboating for the crowd it’s a coin toss on which you’d rather deal with.
History:
Born in Lumiose City the youngest child of a union between an office-worker and a housewife Rosalinda was raised roughhousing with her brothers (who went easy on her due to the fact she was their baby sister and spritely even by hawlucha standards) and listening to her mother’s stories (occasionally accompanied by photos or the stray video) about how her mom used to be part of a wrestling league back in Viridian, Back before she married, settled down, and moved with her husband when the company transferred him. Always an energetic, eager tomboy Rosalinda ate up these stories along with the outings to watch pro-league matches her family would often go to. All this inspired the little hawk to want to be a fighter like her mom used to be and use the same kind of style her mom did.
Unfortunately Rosalinda’s personality, attitude, and tendency not to listen to people who want to help her led the hawlucha to run into some… bumps along the road. Mostly caused by her choices and her refusal to back down from them. She wasn’t deterred at all though, in fact these just made her want to work harder to get what she wanted. Her eldest brother joining the pro-leagues when he graduated high school (as a bottom of the rung fighter but joining none the less) helped cement the goal she wanted in Rosalinda’s mind.
Luckily Rosalinda was fairly decent at schoolwork and when the time came her grades were high enough for her goal… to attend the PCA, one of the best battle schools anywhere, in Viridian city! The same city her mom fought in that league so long ago. Having packed her costumes, supplies, and various novelties she uses to make her “Dramatic Entrances” Rosalinda kissed her family goodbye and headed off to start her freshmen year at the PCA…
As if the school didn’t have ENOUGH weirdos already…
Moves:
Freshmen – Flying Press, Bounce, Fly, Acrobatics
Fighting Style:
Rosalinda fights using her own interpretation/bastardization of her mother’s fighting style, which was an acrobatic, showy style that involved a lot of aerial maneuvers and assaults… and bouncing off her opponents head oddly enough (this was apparently a habit her mom had that annoyed the other wrestlers in the league). Rosalinda maintained the showy and aerial parts… but left out the fact her mom incorporated actual tactics into her moveset and style. Rosalinda’s main tactic is to just keep throwing whatever attack she feels like at the opponent with reckless abandon, trying to make them as showy as possible and simply hoping they hit. She hasn’t even realized she could combine her ability Unburden with a disposable item and Acrobatics to surprise her opponents mid-match… she is just a rookie though so hopefully she’ll learn… hopefully.
Miscellaneous Facts:
- Is actually very embarrassed about her weight… to be specific about how light she is. She understands she needs to be light enough to fly but due to being petite compared to her brothers she feels she could use a little extra weight to give her attacks an added edge to their impacts.
- Rosalinda is actually a talented seamstress, making most of her “Costumes” for the arena herself from the ground up. This is her only real “Girlish” trait though and she tends to throw practicality out the window rather brutally when making them, often adding unneeded extras that get in the way like capes.
- Looks forward to meeting this mythical “Big Momma” her mother mentioned, a nidoqueen wrestler from the league her mom used to fight in. Rosalinda has even heard she has kids in the school and is quite eager to meet them.
- Almost religiously follows her brother’s time in the pro-leagues (her second brother having followed the eldest into the leagues as well) and keeps tabs on their matches even if she can’t go in person anymore. She is also more than ready to argue, rather loudly, about how awesome they are to anyone who might critique their performance in the arena so far.
