This was a pleasant interruption while working in my office.. She sees the bag of cookies on the kitchen counter and wants them but cant walk across the tile.
The thing I missed was the chessboard in the background. When I went for the camera at first she was nosing the white pieces around but by the time I got the camera she had spotted the cookies

Yep. She once tried to go into the kitchen but got two steps and backed out. Our baby as smart as she was walked up the back steps when she was about 2 months old and tried to go into the kitchen but found it too slick once she stepped off the floor mat. I had to carry her back out.
I wish I had the vocal cords to pronounce it but it was the equine equivilent of daddy! I could tell a difference in the whinny from her calling for mama, playing with the other horses or if she was looking for me. Same thing with my mare I can tell if she calls out for me. Its very subtle but different from any other I have heard her use when she is calling for the other horses.
Very much so. We went on our walk today and went about half the distance we normally do because she started acting tired and like something was bothering her but as soon as I turned around and agreed to go back she started prancing right along basically pulling a con job on me. That or she could see that I was starting to limp and didnt want to half carry me back... again.
lol makes me think of my Female pitbull. Lady Lou Lou.
She hurt her leg a while back and I freaked out, doing everything I could to make her more comfortable. Now she is healed.
About a month ago she started limping again...but no matter how many times I took her to a vet, they never found anything wrong with her.
She has figured out that when she acts like she is hurt I will baby her. So she has started faking it XD

I thought she was going to climb on the bed... I thought it best not to post a picture of that... but instead she grabbed all the covers and tossed them on the floor. Most likely a sign I need to finish cleaning. She hates clutter. One thing I have to catch on camera or video is when she is in front of the mirror. She will spend half a forever preening and looking at herself typical female.
One hard slick surface against another... not too well. I am told that the mini horses they train as companions for people with disabilities wear little sneakers that basically look like the 80s converse hightops so that they can walk on tile and other hard surfaces without slipping.
Honestly? She has not needed a trim since last year. The ground here is so rocky and hard it keeps them filed down. Mostly the farrier comes out to reset the shoes on an old mare I have who has trouble walking without them. Other than that everyone gets a trim once or twice a year and I pick them from time to time as needed. Right now it is so dry that I do not even need to do that.
She is prone to overeating if she can get away with it so I keep an eye on her weight and have the farrier check her hooves often in case they need some adjusting. Farrier work is something I know nothing about and a bad trim can really screw up a horses life and I am so obsessive if I tried I would be out with a protractor and measuring tape to make sure it was EXACT so I pay a professional to tell me what needs doing and for him to make any adjustments. I have a new farrier that the horses like and he is reasonable on his prices.
Well I blew myself and part of the livingroom up lighting the furnace once. I caught my desk on fire not long ago soldering a power regulator. I have got the piss zapped out of me more than I want to think about. I blew the top off the stove the other night when the pilot light went out. The smoke alarms went off when a radio I was tinkering with let out the magic blue smoke. I have caught the ashtray on fire more than a few times because I did not dump it. I have caught the trashcan on fire because I did dump it the wires to the ac burned up when the compressor shorted but that was not in my house and I just fixed the problem and there was the lightning strike... shall I go on?
Noted. Do note also that it is not wise to solder when not wearing clothing. Same applies when cooking bacon. Also welders wear long sleves, heavy jeans, leather aprons and sheiding masks for a reason.
And even if you do not see the flash, the smoke etc its not uncommon to hear "hmm I bet I can make this do this or build that *tinkertinkerzzrrrtBANG*..... .... .... ... *sound of a cigarette being lit*..... ..... .... GODDAMNMOTHERFUCKINGSHIT*

*Note to self* "NEVER let darkhorse operate anything that is flamable, NEVER let darkhorse cook, keep fire extinguishers in every room with working smoke detecters, & make sure your home-owners insurance covers fire damage. If he comes to visit for more than a day, have all the fire escapes routes planned out in advance." I think I covered my bases, so "Welcome! Please enjoy your stay!"
Very cute mini-horse!
Friends of mine in San Bernardino have one of their own. He'll sit on your lap, if you let him. He's quite a character:
