It really wasn't all that long ago,
here in this hell hole of a city,
that he was here by my side,
let's just call him Charlie.
and the only thing on his mind,
was to love and protect.

I was pretty young, and so was he,
in this terrible terrible city,
but we leaned on one another as lovers do,
my charlie and i,
a love so thorough married couples envied him and i.

and thats why not so long ago,
in this awful city,
she came to take him away,
my perfect charlie.
she swept him away form me,
held him in her claws,
in this shitty little city.

but still those around us envied our love,
watching in shades of green,
yes!- this was the reason,
that he was taken from me.

but our love is stronger than a knife,
than a bullet,
than a pill.
and neither the word of others,
or my own thoughts,
will ever take you from me,
my amazing charlie.

and every time i hear that song,
or play that game,
i think of you, my beautiful charlie.
and when the wind is chilled i take a breath.
my life- my love- my heart and my soul,
you are there next to me, floating with me,
in this dull little city.
