Yeah thats true. Maybe you can make it a contest game. Basically make worlds like you are already doing and say they are open for colonization. Offer your watchers a chance to design an alien and the winner gets a species and a world. That way you are still making the worlds you envision and you get a unique way to populate them. The planets are still cool in any case.
