"They were the blasphemous fish-frogs of the nameless design - living and horrible."

Was intended to be general gift art for a friend, and then I found out he had a birthday coming up. Because everyone deserves a picture of adventurers being carried off to some terrible unknown fate, by an obscure Underdark race, for their birthday.

Skum are very much under-used critters; they're eclipsed by the kuo-toa and the sahuagin for the "Deep One" niche.

Have you checked out 4e yet; and if so, what do you think of it (both as a game, and in terms of art)?

It's a mix, though leaning towards good; there's some stuff I like, some stuff I absolutely adore, and some stuff I hate. I think that merits a journal entry of its own though, so stay tuned?

i always thought skum were one of the more interesting concepts in the Underdark, and along with grimlocks seemed to be one of the more reasonable inhabitants aside from horrible things beyond human(oid) understanding.
