What started as a simple little short quickly mutated into something much bigger and messier. Much like the characters in this story.
This story sees the return of Kwillit, my own little addition to the sci-fi universe that
Maddie cooked up. This is mostly a character piece, dealing with Kwillit's history, his life and info about his race. But it was built on an idea for a TF, so if you're willing to plumb the depths, that's definitely in there.
This story was rather directly inspired by similar works by
Barrel-o-TF complete with a title provided by a song the pertains to Kwillit's character, namely https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwzMuuGOsVI

Well now that was a really good read! Man I really like Kwillit, he is just, well he is a cool character, and he is always getting into trouble, and now we can see that he was almost always getting into trouble. This double narrative in the present and the past is a really cool idea, and nicely implemented I must say. And of course, this planet he lands on and what he finds there (no spoilers) is dreadfully entertaining, and somewhat scary! The implications and ideas of who is involved... hah well I just got to say, I like it. Great to see more of him, and learn about his past, and see his current antics too... looks like he is getting an itch he is wanting to scratch more and more, eh?
So happy that you dig it. I had a lot of fun pulling the character together and expanding on his life. And I know what you meant by that planet being scary. I had a few Last Of Us flashbacks while writing the big action scene.
And yeah, Eckelson...might have just awakened something. Only time will tell how he develops his odd new tastes.
