Time is never time at all
You can never ever leave
Without leaving a piece of youth
And our lives are forever changed
We will never be the same
The more you change the less you feel
Believe, believe in me, believe, believe
That life can change that you're not stuck in vain
We're not the same, we're different
You can never ever leave
Without leaving a piece of youth
And our lives are forever changed
We will never be the same
The more you change the less you feel
Believe, believe in me, believe, believe
That life can change that you're not stuck in vain
We're not the same, we're different

A visual delight in homage to Georges Méliès' 1902 "A Trip to the Moon" (Le Voyage dans la lune)
It set the tone of the music perfectly. Truly the last great music videos of the MTV era before they changed to more Reality fare.

I could! Would you believe I had never seen that video until today? Beauty, of course. Although Billy Corgan is.... well, Billy Corgan.
I've long had a music video that plays in my mind's eye when I listen to Tonight, Tonight. I find most of Mellon Collie to be really easy to relate to various times and experiences and feelings from my life, so that's what I envision most of the time. Tonight, Tonight has always been the story of getting ditched, for me. Getting all your hopes up and then realizing you've been punked and they don't really want to be your friend, they just think you're good for a laugh. Can ya tell I know what that feels like much?

I can't say I know what it's like to be taken for a chump, at least not that seriously, but I understand what it means to relate to a song on a strictly personal level. And I ESPECIALLY know what it's like to imagine your own "music video"-type story play out in your head when you hear your favorite song (one reason Im not crazy about the movie of "The Wall": such vivid lyrics with visuals that I feel don't always match up). I'd be intrigued to see some drawings of what YOU visualize when you listen to "Tonight Tonight."
