Another sketch that I liked too much to let linger, of Puq'unah from "Off the Beaten Path" and Hugh Jackman's "Bunny" from Rise of the Guardians. I thought their tattoos looked similar... Of course, Puck being blind and unable to see the tattoos, I imagined how that sculpted chestfur must feel to him. And just... chivalrous Hugh Jackman, how's that?
(They designed the character's fur to look sculpted like armor plates, something I'm not yet talented enough to replicate....)
This was from a while ago, when "Beaten Path" was gnawing on my insides, and I needed to get some cute fanart. I remain, however, really proud of the idea for the pose, I piggyback people a lot, and think the idea of supporting a lover on your shoulders is the cutest thing ever...
I drew Puck with the wrong ears here, more like a Fennec than an Arctic Fox, I mean to edit those ears down and resubmit ^^" http://imgur.com/NnSdPlN Here's the earless version, more accurate but I don't think it looks as good.

If anyone sells the rights to this book in Hollywood, I'll be very very disappointed if Hugh Jackman doesn't audition for Ransom. I can't judge if he'd do it well, but it would be interesting to see and fantasize about <3

That rabbit already seemed familiar on the thumbnail, you portrayed him very accurately with only a few lines And I think Jackman would be a good choice for Ransom; he definitely has enough acting experience in the grumpy department from all the Wolverine movies. Now he only would've to practice the sleazy talk when facing women as Ransom XD
Then my animation skills are finally coming to fruition Seriously, his beveled head design is quite fun...
He's Australian, so he probably doesn't need to practice, just imitate his friends X3 Trust me, if he auditions we'll probably give it to him. And I just want to see his face from getting shot in the knee, how he'd approach it. ^u^" Now imagine Puck as Johnny Depp (not serious, just a comical thought). But he's already played one white-faced Native american and probably needs a lifetime to recover from the horror of being in that movie in the first place X3

I'm sure you can appreciate an easy-to-recognize design as he has it, and I find it always interesting that you would often put heavy emphasis on art that challenges the viewer by having to look several times when you actually want to work in animation, which is quite the opposite...but I have no doubts you will make that step
So you're thinking about a live-action version of OTBP? I would rather imagine it all with Rukis' designs in CGI, and Jackman voicing Ransom. The tale could probably be adapted like that (but would've serious trouble getting anything but an R-rating), but at least the way I remember it would loose something when suddenly being populated by real humans, and therefore being set in the real world, instead of the alternative reality she has created. The metaphor on frontier-America is all too obvious, and only works with animal-people, I believe.
Plus, Johnny Depp would be nowhere near as cute as Puck. Maybe Justin Bieber could pull that off XD But seriously, Depp as a native-American? He is as white as a snowman during an excessive cocaine-party, so what were they smoking XD

That's because my interest is in the murky, and the most murky thing in the world is the clear-yet-profound. That, or make animation that's fascinatingly murky, art-wise, and makes you want to see it over and over. The difference between murky and muddy is that muddy has everything on the surface. Murky, it's all clear, but you have to concentrate to pick up on it. My model is Puccini. very subtle and very effective, but with enough schmaltz and good melody that people still love it <3
When we say "I want a movie," we mean "I want a 20-hour movie with every line of dialogue and it looks exactly the way it did in my head." I really don't want to imagine how bad this movie would be compared to the book, but we also need more native americans and disabled characters and faustian bargains in hollywood... Yeah, CGI furries would be the only way to go. Maybe make this an HBO series X3
And they covered Johnny Depp with white facepaint to disguise it even further... And I don't want to punch Puck in the face, so that casting is misguided X3

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jy9IP5Y4JrM Someone described this album as "like a deep pool you can't see the bottom of, different every time you look at it..." and I'd say that's the aesthetic I'm going for...
I wish for you to be able to incorporate your vision of art not only in the art you already do, but also in any future profession of yours Such an ideal is admirable in my view. My path is rather the "outsider/child art-style", as you termed it so fittingly, and so we both have our niches we can find expression in, as different as they may be.
That is of course true, the cinema in the head that comes from reading is usually very much different from actual cinema, sadly. Although it could work as a mini-series…or like the Russians and their movie version of War and Peace that was 8 hours long. Still, a CGI movie about animal people, Faustian bargains, with a disabled hero and a same-sex relationship is probably a pie in the sky for us. I expect you to set that trend into motion, once you work in animation

Different, but still good ^u^"
Honestly, I see a Peter Jackson epic in my head, with all the camera angles and sweeping orchestral score, but like I told you, I don't imagine this story as taking place in allegories for the Algonquins and Catskills, as it's almost certainly set for logistics, but in Banff with Pacific Northwest tribes. THAT'S a cinematic setting. But yeah, this is AMC material. Or go the Game of Thrones route and be fucking expansive.
That WAS, after all, Russia. It was a natural treasure, of course they won't cut anything out..
Well, I do have projects involving animals, but only a single one-reeler that involves furries, and that includes straight people having sex (It's supposed to be a send up of how straight characters act in Hollywood movies).
I do, however, have the bare bones of a live-action screenplay (read: it'll never be made) with a lesbian protagonist and a sex scene set to Peggy Lee's "Fever..." but nothing really gay gay, unfortunately, I'm not male enough for that XP I'd love to set the trend going...
But animation, I'll have you know, does attract a lot of ace people, since live action just has too many romantic subplots... Seeing as how everybody in these films is basically ace anyways XD I don't want to take that away from them.
