An old picture from way back in 2007. Not the best quality, but I didn't have access to a very good camera back then.
What happens when a place sits abandoned for over 40 years untouched. According to a teacher of mine this was a petting zoo that offered pony rides, and was abandoned in the mid 1970's after the owner died, and his aging wife couldn't maintain it on her own. The property included an old schoolhouse where they lived/ran their business. The school house was still lived in until the 1980's, but not by the petting zoo owners. This whole property was isolated by overgrowth and hedges for years creating a very interesting time capsule of everything from turn of the century wrought iron to 1980's era toys. To this day, of all the places I've been to, this is my favorite exploration of an abandoned property.
