I know that, technically, the Riot Staff, at least by official company announcement, highly approves of smurf accounts, but I'm not so sure I approve of them. There is a steep learning curve to the game, and tons of characters to learn about, and a meta that takes time to understand. With the expressed purpose of teaching inexperienced players how to play, smurf accounts can be good, but I have seldom seen a smurf do more than either be completely silent or bad-mouth their teammates.
