great pic, Sir. Reminds me of the old paintings from the Impressionism during the 19th century
The shading is awesome and the scenario is heart worming (says the straight rat^^)
Even in the darkest times, ther are some stars shining and so their light is even more comforting

haha yea that IS a good quote to use here! nice one.
but yea thanks for a reflected comment like this. =) I originally started out just wanting to draw something of random people to stop myself from limiting myself at every step. I'm actually quite pleased with the result for a change. and thanks about the insight on the homosexuals can be warriors like any others, I try to avoid those annoying steriotypes that's been grinded into todays society.

Not sure if you heard of the Sacred Band of Thebes, in Ancient Greece. There were 300 of them in an elite fighting phalanx. Made up of 150 of what we today might call gay couples. The idea was that they'd die for their lovers rather than face the shame of defeat.
Not advocating that arrangement for today of course, but just relating to it. :)

hahaha yea, they DO sound badass XD
it's odd how they had much more relaxed relationship to sexually back then compared to now. I looked up the same subject about the Skandinavian vikings (beeing Norwegian myself) and was surpriced to read they wheren't against. as longs as one fathered enough sons on your woman one was free to do what you liked mostly. that Is Mostly.. since if a man where on the recieving end then he was considered less a man =P

The absolute opposition to all things m/m mainly came from Christianity. Before Christianity it was generally accepted as a part of sexuality, though there were some regulations and social custom to it. Like the bottom partner was usually considered shamed or at least lessened by the affair. Thus it was considered only appropriate in Greece and Rome for this role to be filled by slaves or by the young to the old. When a young man got older he was supposed to "grow out" of being a bottom, have a wife and kids, and perhaps have a "boy" of his own, in that culture.
