Done with watercolors, pen, ink, and aquarell pencils.
I don't think I'll use this paper again. Its just a little weak.

Again, wow, it's really awesome to see these pages in color. It's very cool to compare the colors my mind filled in for this world and see how you envisioned the color. there are certain things you've done here, layering and texture namely, that are very powerful and I really. One day I would love to see how you do it, or maybe try to figure it out myself. Watercolors?
I blew up the original drawing to fit on an 8.5 sheet, then copied it to watercolor paper. I went over all the original lines with aquarelle colored pencil. Those are nice water soluable colored pencils. Then I gave everthing a wash of the lighted color I'd expect each area to have. Further washes with darker, hue shifted colors for shading. Then to some of the edges, I used marker pens to stiffen some edges. Some of the highlights I created by wetting an area and dabbing the water back up, drawing away color.
The original drawing was supposed to be taking place at night but I wasn't brave enough to attempt this picture as lit by moonlight.

I like this one a lot, and just NOW noticed that it looks like she's crying! I see you are starting to seriously love those pens with wate colorfor some detailing and cross hatch work too. It's an interesting way of controlling the water colors. I'll have to try it myself!! I'd like to see the original, since scanners tend to mutilate colors.. I'm wondering if the color on her neck is truly that yellow or not. I so, it needs a bit more tan coloring, since rita is a rotweiller, right? A very nicely done piece, but then, all of your work typically is!! You do good stuff, bubba. Keep painting.
LOL!
I've used some papers that I really like and some that I really dislike.. mitientes is still my least favorite paper to do pastels on.. as for water color.. I erally have not developed a strong preference for any particular one.. I even like using canson water color papers..
