...For king and for country (and for brutally murdering good quotes). So for a while now I have been working on ideas for creating a Role Play game where combat and story is balanced. The trick is, I want to make the combat as fast paced as possible where any combination of attacks is viable and where the imagination can truly take a hold on situations. I currently have played a total of 3 other role play games and I have noticed that the combat is actually most frequently where the experience gets jarred as players take huge amounts of time to make the best possible decisions. I believe this to be complete and utter bull c**p. Combat should be as fast as a reflex as well as dynamic. I absolutely despise sitting around gaming a combat that in game time lasts around a minute but takes an hour to game. I know that large health pools are partially to blame for this so I figure I might make the lethality quite, well... you know, lethal. Also, determining initiative should be dead. If you are a warrior of great prowess you should be able to choose how and when you want an engagement to start. Its called posturing a fight for a reason. I have a bunch of ideas and I wanted to get this down so I wouldn't forget. I would actually really appreciate it if people commented and asked questions as it would help me flush out ideas.
