That's actually a Damsel Fly, they doo look a lot like a dragonfly granted ^.^ The picture is very well taken... it also looks like a Blue tail fly, also known as a Siberian Khatru.

Yeah, as Spiral pointed out, that's a Damsel Fly.

It's easy to tell the difference; dragonflies rest their wings out like biplanes, damselflies can fold them back.

Damsel, Dragon, they're both cool. They always reminded me of helicopters, with their hovery hovering.

In a rare moment last summer I took a few shots of an orange dragon fly on the tip of my car antenna. That was pretty cool too. There are a few mountain ponds around here, so dragon flies come around occasionally. Damselflies are actually less common here, at least this far away from those ponds.

Very nice picture! ...but how do you "get a fly to stay still"? XD
