Ah, this brings memories...
Sorry, maybe I should introduce myself. The username's panzergulo, I'm a Finn and I served my time in the Finnish Defence Forces as a tank man, a Leopard 2 driver, to be precise. So, from there comes the memories. Quite nice ride, the Leopard, with 55 tons and 1500 hp you don't really have to care much about obstacles. Drinks fuel like a drunk, though. My record was something 10 litres per kilometre.
Anyway, great to see other armor nuts also, your gallery is quite amazing, I might comment a few photographs on my way.

Yeh we have ties trundling around in Canada.
Hear one going by on Pavement makes you want to Grip the ground with your toes its a form of cytological warfare.
this happened in Calgary when CFB Calgary left for the Super base north of Edmonton.
they where in the Stampede Paraid the year before and I saw it turn on a Dime and swing the Turret around in the Opposite direction. when they did that there was DEAD silence form the Crowd.
Not too Enthusiastic about Machines of DEATH in Calgary..... though here is one of the places you get the Fuel to power them.

But remember to take enough M10 nuts with you , just for the case that you don`t feel like going to an practice training . Why because they fit perfectly between the turret and the hull , then just turn the turret a bit and you have got a free day . Just something that our guys seem like to do . XD
For me is the fact that the M1 is used or get used soon in 6 countries ( Iraq who is more or less ruled by US , Kuwait what a surprise , Saudi Arabia tried to buy the Leo 2 but couldn`t so the get the M1) while the leo2 is in use in 18 countries more than enough .
For the us government was it of course a lot cheaper to buy their own tank because most of the money stays in country and gets back on detours .
