Anthrocon 2014 - Dark Natasha Dream Bargain Sketch
The last sketch I received at Anthrocon was not even requested by me! This was commissioned from

Sundansyr back at Furry Fiesta. When Dark handed this to me I was completely flabbergasted, jaw agape, eyes bugging out of my head, and in complete awe. This is epic and captures the most pivotal scene in my current story for Metamor Keep (http://metamorkeep.com). It is so pivotal in fact that it is shown at least three times from different perspectives!
The scene takes place in the dream realms. The character on the left if Malger who has helped Charles the Rat cross over into the dream realm. There Charles bargains for a dangerous boon from Nocturna, the goddess of dreams, who has chosen to appear in the shape of a giant Raven. Charles's eldest child lays upon the altar, the price of this dread boon.

Indeed, this is probably the darkest picture with Charles ever done. Here he is at his most corrupt and it only fills the readers hearts with sorrow.
No apologies necessary! This was a wonderful surprise and it looks epic and amazing! I'd love to see Dark turn this into a full painting!

Ok, I realized that I have at this time I have read of the character Malger. He and Vinsah have traveled together. And this is epic beyond belief. I imagine the symbolism of Charles being the only one with a shadow is that he's the only one who's actually dangerous in the scene. But maybe not. I'll wait until I read the story.
I'm not big on avians but I admit Nocturna here looks very awesome. The other thing I love is how Darknatasha got Charles's rat features really well in this picture.

You would have met Malger earlier if you'd read Ryx's stories. I love Ryx's writing; it is so poetic to me.
The shadow is very important but I won't spoil the surprise for you.
Nocturna is definitely frightening in this guise! And yes, Dark really nails Charles as a Rat. You just believe it when you see her work. She loves Rats.
