Doggie's looks were completely changed in the American version. It was terrible. :( He had SCALES instead of fur! O.O;;

Yup, the Dekaranger version was too 'muppetty' for the American kids, so they rehauled the character's look for SPD, so now he looks like a cross between a doberman and a blue marlin. Not nearly as sexy as Deka Doggy, but he does have a certain charm that can grow on you, if you care to give him a chance.
