Seen here perched on a rocky outcropping in its native range of Polynesia.
I took a few hours today to try a larger digital painting over a traditional concept sketch I made of this creature. This one actually turned out nicely. And I got the clouds right with hardly any dodge/burn.
Used GIMP: Simple paintbrush, Airbrush, smudge, dodge/burn to finish up the shadows and highlights.
