#3: Applejack

If Celestia is the Mamma Bear of Equestria, then AJ would be the Team Mom of the Mane 6. She may not get the spotlight as much as some would like, but hell or high water she'll be the first to volunteer and come to another pony's aid, or be the voice of reason when ponies start to lose there cool and Twilight's not around (Or one of the ponies losing their cool). The few insidents where she's the cause of the problem are actually very understandable circumstances, and always it's about wanting to prove she can provide for her family and her town even at her own expence. And that's probably the biggest point in Applejack's favor: she's a pony who's all about family. And not just the one she was born into, but with the ponies all over who she's made powerful bonds with. I'm constantly reminded of one of my favourite movies of all time, "Summer Wars", whenever I see an episode about her and her family, and anything that reminds me of that masterpiece is awesome in my book.
