Welcome to page two of Jack's and Joe's romantic dinner date
Although, it seems Jack isn't entirely comfortable with the idea. Let's see if he has reasons to feel that way, or if he is simply imagining things. Also, I feel hungry for pizza all of a sudden XD

Labor is true; while I was done with the linework relatively quickly, the coloring took me several hours. It was a good thing I had the day off, otherwise it would've consumed my entire evening. Not to mention I woke up at midnight, realizing "how about drawing them some tails!?" XD I still have the tendency to forget them, oddly enough. Maybe it's because they have no counterpart in human physique?
Other than that, I feel that this comic is a wonderful practice for me. Having to draw a sequence of smaller pictures is a different challenge than simply tinkering on one piece for the same time. I already feel I really like this medium

Color has to really be worth it, but it has a way of consuming your time ^u^ Last night I spent two hours painting a teeny experimental color chart, it was strange...
Tails, yeah, they really don't have a counterpart! It took me a while when I started drawing furries to integrate the tails into the figure drawing... they always looked like they were weighted backward. Now my humans are weighted too far to the front XD They're wonderful things to incorporate into drawing... I've been sketching the Bob Fosse dance poses from Steam Heat with cats, and the appeal to me is contrasting the pristine, sharp, straight lines of their human poses, and just as an accent, a curvy fluffy tail piercing the composition through the back.
You're not alone... Stan Sakai says that he refuses to draw the characters in "Usagi Yojimbo" (one of the best comics out there to study, since for the eighties it was amazingly dynamic and used its panels effectively...) with tails, because he says that's the point at which you can no longer look at them and pretend they're humans. XD Art Spiegelman did the same thing with "Maus..." originally for the scene where Vladek mentions trying to hide in the countryside with Anja, and how "she looked more recognizably Jewish..." he first drew them walking down a street wearing the pig masks, but she had a giant rat tail behind her. He decided after seeing that panel to just jettison the tails. There's so many ways to go with this!
It's addictive to see something you created unfold through time. It's an aphrodisiac ^u^"

It's an interesting question indeed how an upright-walking species would incorporate tails in their movements and stances. I guess there is a reason we lost our tails. As for art, I never really thought of the tail to have a specific purpose, although it would make sense to give them better balance when digiti-graded. I see it more as an accessory, kinda like a feather boa worn somewhere else XD It also adds a bit to the sex-appeal for me, I admit, like as if the tail wants to say "wanna know what is at my end? "
Those guys (and gals) from the video would look indeed funnily counterpointed with tails. BTW, after the link opened, there were adds for the musical "Chicago" everywhere on YT. What do you think about it, as musical expert and living at the place it was named after? I haven't seen it, I only know that there is almost as much lingerie on display as in "Moulin Rouge", which kinda makes me want to see it. Too bad only there aren't any guys in it wearing it as well XD It's dumb that such kind of clothing isn't deemed appropriate by society anymore. Men used to show off their legs, which I know from Robin Hood movies (besides my historical research XD). All those tights and bulges Also, I simply say David Bowie in Labyrinth
That my art is addictive might be the most impressive praise I've heard so far! And this comic will be indeed about the boyfriend we both would love to have, but don't in actuality, so please bear with me. It will be a healing pain, I promise

I imagine they'd lean forward... A tail, though, there's so many ways to telegraph emotions. I'm drawing a feral fox character for a side project, and one of the tics I'm giving her is that when she's stressed, she'll swing her unrealistically voluminous tail around to hide her feet. Tails are incredibly useful once you get acquainted with them... They telegraph emotions. Can you imagine your boyfriend, in the middle of dinner, begins wagging his tail seductively? Furries can do so much more than us in some ways...
We have family friends from Dusseldorf who lived in Chicago for some time... They went out to see that musical when they were in New York, but didn't really "get" it. XD Their english is rusty from neglect, so I'm not surprised.
But the musical is absolutely wonderful, one of my favorites... It's choreographed by the same guy who did that video I sent you, Bob Fosse, including a really great number where one of main characters tries to recruit our protagonist - she wants to start dancing again on the road, but she's in jail for killing her co-stars, her sister and husband, when she caught them in the act. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrDlxQNS4rI So the song is literally half-complete, you're seeing half of a Pas De Deux. It's breathtaking.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_(musical) It's a cold and cynical musical vaudeville, and it's not for everybody. In fact, it's the polar opposite of what I'd peg you for. It's based on murder cases in the Chicago papers in the 1920s, speakeasies, the jazz age, the changing face of women, and murder trial celebrities. It's a decade in which no one cared and fame was all you could shoot for, literally; the age of Al Capone and everything. Ooooooh, you're gonna see your Sheba shimmy-shake, and all that jazz! It's an acquired taste, watch the movie first. XD Pop! Six! Squish! Uh-uh! Cicero! Lipshitz! All my stupid quotes will become clear in due time...
But yeah, David Bowie's tight pants... Straight boys everywhere feel offended that was there, how do you like them apples! XD
I mean it's addictive to create... I'm familiar with that feeling. But I do anticipate certain things...

I can see that, a wagging tail that is seen behind his chair for brief moments flashing left and right...sounds seductive indeed. There would be a lot of possible expressions, with probably my favorite being "lifting the tail". The tail is literally a gatekeeper for that entrance, and what cuter way of giving permission can there be
Catherine Zeta-Jones is one of those women that make me think I MIGHT be bi, or at least homoflexible, if that's what it's called. And she got really physical in that musical, as I see. Impressive. Renee Zellweger is of course sitting there and looks as usual just like Bridget Jones chewing chocolate XD But I assume she had dance numbers as well in that movie? In case I check it out I will report to you how I liked it. Your description makes it sound really interesting already.
