As the first hour of sun lights up the beach, a lone orca smiles and waxes his surf board. Nuuk looks out at the water, watching as the waves lap gently at sands before him, knowing the winds will soon lift them to the heights he needs for a morning of doing something he loves. As he moves the wax bar across the smooth board, his tail swishes in the cool sands, and his toes occasionally splay and scrunch, much to the delight of someone who's just come up behind him. might that be you? :)

wfa! I was lucky enough to get a slot late last year, and I asked to have Nuuk done up like this. :) Turned out absolutely amazing - love the details on him. And of course, she made his footpaw look so nice and meaty and awesome. ^_^ Fitting too to have him on the beach at Sunrise, given that my original pic of him was at sunset (here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4410280/). Very great to work with, very professional about the whole experience - definitely worth it if you ever get the chance to grab a slot form her.

I bet after the first hour of playing around, he'd LOVE that footrub for a break back on shore. :3 And yeah, I like how he turned out too! The details in the back are awesome. I struggled to get any sort of anatomy detail on him in the original pic - I felt I really only pulled of the arm and the foot well. :/
I'm weird with footpaw-prefs. :P For anthro-creature footpaws, I prefer a more non-human build to the foot; wider, larger toes. Usually three to four toes are best, with five generally looking good when they're really big toes and not in human proportions. Human feet are okay on humans (um... not that we have much choice), but even then, I only find them attractive on maybe 5% of females and 2% of males. Yes - all just personal opinion/preference though.
An awesome piece here. I love the whole quietness this pic has, the gentle, calm facial expression of Nuuk. You can almost feel how he slowly and patiently prepares his board for the morning surf, the slow swishing of his tail, the occasional movements of his toes. A very, very peaceful artwork this is.

Yeah - very peaceful pic. I like, as I mentioned in description, that it's the morning this time around. Nuuk is a pretty "zen" kind of guy, though shy enough that I'm not sure you could just walk up and do that without at least talking with him a while! *laughs* Thanks for faving the pic too my friend. ^_^
I think I completely and totally lucked out on getting on that list. Like... right place, right time kind of thing. Best thing to do is check the site that's linked on her FA page and go from there. No harm in asking. Also... just to make sure of the gender preference, I did ask via e-mail, so I'll set it straight soon as I get an answer. XD
*nodsnods* Yes, that lighting work is gorgeous! I could just see him arriving at the beach as the first light of the morning is brightening the sky, then 20 minutes later as the sun peeks over the edge of the water, he's doing this. :) But... yeah, teasing footpaw. ^^; Equally fun to imagine that sole flexing and changing as he worked too.
