Round and round the pole she goes;
Would give lesser girls a bloody nose;
But instead incites the front rows,
And when the show comes to a close,
It does so with hoots and hollars,
And a great big showering of dollars.

Decided I needed a mini-break from stream commissions to work on something for myself. SO. This turned out to be one of those "This'll be so much fun!" to "AM I DONE YET PLZ BE DONE" things. XD
Switchamaroo was kind enough to give me the .SAI file of a YCH I won from her of Kiddo to play with! c:
This took a solid 9 days of work, and is one of those rare images where I had a vision for it, and what I saw in my head I actually pulled off on paper.
Resources:
THIS is a wonderful tutorial to help with color schemes: http://purplekecleon.deviantart.com.....rial-184642625
Background is painted over a reference photo of a city(Apologies that the buildings are sprouting up ten billion wrong degrees everywhere. and I am...cities...never again... OTL)
Shading was done with the help of this spiffy gradient shading tutorial:

Thank you again
Switchamaroo for the opportunity to work with your image. ^__^
For more about Kiddo, please check out her reference sheet: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13957055/
Edit: Aah, 100+ faves in the first day? Thank you so much guys! ^__^

I'm glad you like; it was a week of love and labor that I am glad turned out so well! ^__^ Hit F5 for an updated version with our names on it! =D
Aah, I forgot to mention that I also used this tutorial(if you haven't seen it) to help with the color scheme: http://purplekecleon.deviantart.com.....rial-184642625 I'll add it to the image description.
Night-time colors used to intimidate me because they're so different, but I took one step forwards at a time and I think I've (nearly) got it. :P
And finally, I wanted to see what my detailed gradient shading looks like now because I haven't attempted it for real...for like, 6 years... lol, and I was afraid to try it again until now because it used to be such a big hassle. I pretty much gave up on it back then because, having not known what a tablet was when I started to gradient shade, I was trying to do all those colors with a mouse and it took a whole month to get one character done.
Rambling aside, you are TOO awesome for letting me experiment with her. *hugs* And I would not have had the inspiration to up and do all those fanciful colors had it not been for your lovely lineart in the first place!
P.S., I can send the (rather big) .psd file to you if you just want to see the inner workings. =)

oh gosh, i've never even tried gradient shadding before.
see i used to try and stay away from shading as much as possible because i never found it fun, i thought it was the hardest thing to do
and now i really want to learn how to do it good. i know where to shade with lighting, but this ^^^^
looks like 9 days were worth it!
and i'de love to see the larger file~
