Sorry, it's a little obscure.
These are photographs on aluminum plate. Technically not tintypes but the same general process. Same process as used for those U.S. Civil War photos you see all the time.
A salted mixture of collodion with ether and alcohol is poured onto a plate (steel, aluminum, glass, plexiglass ...) then sensitized in silver nitrate and exposed. The plate has to be exposed and developed while still wet.
