Something tells me Porucznik Czerep and an armored car are not a good mix.
MILITARY HISTORY TRIVIA QUESTION:
What type of armored car is Kapitan Bzik ordering?
Note me your educated guess. People guessing correctly will be entered into a pool for a random drawing. The winner will receive a postcard-sized piece of original Rudek and the Bear art, snail-mailed directly to you!

I would guess wz. 34

I'm afraid I'm not familiar enough with the Polish military and Border Guard to hazard a guess on their unit's priority. From what I can tell from what Pdonz has hinted about the story, the comic is taking place in the mid-late 1930's. By the 1930's the WWI-type armored-cars were mostly out of use. The wz 28 was only used for a few years before mostly being converted to wz 34's because of their bad performance. Since most of the wz 28's were converted to wz 34's (80 of them), they'd be the "most common" armored car available at the time for requisition.
However, that doesn't mean Pdonz hasn't decided to saddle his merry band of misfits with something bizarre or completely archaic.

Well, like I said in reply to one of the comments, I guess it could be following (from highest possibility to the lowest):
1. Ford FT-B
2. Peugot armored car
3. Garford-Putilov
4. Austin armored cars
5. Wz. 28 armoured car
6. Wz. 29 armoured car

For my own two cents' worth, Soreh and Drache24 are both on the right track ('scuse the pun).
The Ford FT-B would start to be phased out of front-line service and relegated to police/patrol units around the time of the comic, although whether or not they'd be scrapped instead is up to question. There's some comedic value to be had with it being so small (ergo a cramped disappointment for Czerep).
Either the Austin (Austin-Putilov) or Garford-Putilov would be decent choices from a "we captured these from the Soviets a couple years ago" standpoint, historically speaking. However, those things (the Garford-Putilov in particular) had way more firepower than anything else besides a full-blown tank at the time -- and the Garford-Putilov in particular would need the entire unit to fully man (driver, three machine-gunners, commander and two-man 75mm gun crew).
The Peugeot would be a reasonable choice for this time period, as they got scattered and borrowed amongst the various army and police units at the time instead of being kept mostly in dedicated armored car units, and gets my personal vote from a comedic standpoint as well.
It's top-heavy, would likely be open-topped with a single machine-gun on a pintle mount (i.e., no protection from lobbed rotten produce or dumped nightwater, plus being a real disappointment for Czerep), didn't have very good off-road performance, and repairing one was well-nigh nightmarish (You want standardized parts? Good luck, it's French). That and it's the most practical of the lot from a "let's carry as much stuff as we can in it" point-of-view.

It's probably Austin II or Austin III -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austin_Armoured_Car
